Cuban Black Beans

Makes 8 servings

cuban black beans


3 tbsp olive oil
1 large onion, chopped
1 green bell pepper, chopped
2 tsp minced garli
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp cumin
1 tsp oregano
2 cans black beans
1 bay leaf
2 tbs vinegar
1/4 cup dry white wine
1 tsp sugar


In a large frying pan, heat up the oil and add in the onions, peppers, garlic, salt, cumin and oregano. Saute over a medium high heat until the onions are translucent.
Add in the black beans and the bay leaf, stir and cover. Simmer for about 15-20 minutes.
Add in the vinegar, wine and sugar and mix together. Simmer for a further 5 minutes.
Serve and enjoy!
